Great Hollow is pleased to be serving as a “community partner” for the University of Connecticut’s terrific Conservation Ambassador Program, in which high school students learn about conservation science and receive mentorship from the university’s professors and graduate students while partnering with an organization in their community to conduct a conservation project.

Coastal erosion is a serious threat facing the maintenance and regulation of coastal ecosystems worldwide. Climate change has accelerated the intensity and frequency of hurricanes resulting in erosion and net sediment loss in coastal ecosystems.

Conservation groups that depend on the efforts of volunteers often find themselves with a long to-do list to achieve their conservation goals.
